2012 Marks 100th Anniversary of Regina Tornado
Aftermath of the 1912 tornado. WDM Collection
One hundred years ago on June 30, a tornado roared through Regina. Twenty-eight people died, 2,500 were left homeless, and 500 buildings
One witness recalled, "a wagon which was standing in front of the hotel was blown completely on top of the heavy draft horse which was attached to it and the two were carried down the street."
Another said, "The only thing it could be likened to is hell let loose."
