Teacher Guide

Guide for Teachers coverThe new WDM Guide For Teachers, a companion piece to the Museum’s centennial exhibits, Winning the Prairie Gamble: The Saskatchewan Story, offers 463 pages of lesson plans and Saskatchewan facts for teachers. The Guide offers four lesson plans on each of 25 themes for a total of 100 lesson plans. Eight of the themes are also presented in Cree; five themes are translated into French. 

The Guide is available to purchase at Museum Gift Shops and as free PDF documents online. Accompanying in-museum programs can be found on our education website.

Stories and photographs of 65 Museum artifacts: the past through the eyes of those who lived it! 136 pages describing some of the more unusual and interesting artifacts in the Western Development Museum collection.

From Saskatchewan Homemakers' Kitchens

1955 Jubilee Cookbook reprinted to celebrate Saskatchewan's Centennial in 2005. The recipes and sketches, written by hand and collected from near and far in 1955, provide a glimpse of another Saskatchewan, familiar but different from the province we know as home today. There are 311 recipe pages and another 40 pages of story, history and observations about the past.
