Programs and Volunteer CoordinatorAlexis graduated from the University of Alberta with a major in Anthropology, a certificate in Archaeology and a minor in Sociology and Classics. Once she graduated, she worked as an archaeological technician for 6 months in Northern BC surveying for archaeological sites and identifying culturally modified trees. Then she volunteered for the Royal Saskatchewan Museum in Regina for 3 months to help organize artifacts.
Afterward, she wanted to explore different cultures and backpacked Europe for 3 months and saw ten different countries. Following her travels, she became a cultural programmer for the City of Humboldt, she worked at four different locations the Water Tower, Museum, Gallery, and Original Humboldt (archaeological site), where she put up exhibits, gave tours, created education and public programs, and participated in archaeological digs.
She is excited to return to her hometown of Moose Jaw and continue to plan public and education programs and be able to work closely with volunteers at the Western Development Museum.
