    Cherysse Mackechnie

    Indigenous Community Engagement Coordinator

Cherysse is from Northern Manitoba and decided to make Saskatoon her home when she attended the University of Saskatchewan. Once in Saskatoon, one of the first places she visited was the WDM and fell in love with the History and Culture. Fast forward today, Cherysse still enjoys spending time at the WDM with her family.

Since completing her Aboriginal Business Administration Certificate, she has spent her time working with various Community Based Organization’s. She has a strong passion for her Dene/Cree culture and working with people especially in terms of addressing the Truth and Reconciliation Commissions 94 Calls to Action.

In her role as Indigenous Community Engagement Coordinator, she feels gifted to be able to share her knowledge, give back to the community and be part of a team that’s working hard to answer those calls.
