    Cory Schewaga

    Exhibits Design Supervisor

Cory grew up on a farm just outside of Saskatoon. He has a passion for art and photography. His art has been displayed at the Mendel Art Gallery, AKA Artist Run, and The Gallery in Frances Morrison Central Library. Cory has also been a featured artist for the 2016 Saskatoon Nuit Blanche and 2017 Saskatoon Street Meet. Before the WDM, Cory worked at the Remai Modern, The College and Kenderdine galleries at the U of S, and on the set of Corner Gas for its last season. One of Cory’s WDM memories is watching his Dad win a stooking contest at the North Battleford WDM when he was 12 or 13.

As Exhibits Design Supervisor, Cory has been a part of the design team for two award-winning exhibits at the WDM, The Doukhobor Living Book Project and Wapaha Sk̄a Oyate: Living Our Culture, Sharing Our Community at Pion-Era, 1955 – 69. During the pandemic, Cory shot, edited and starred in cooking videos showcasing recipes from the WDM’s Cookbook Collection.
