    Jack Dawes

    Board Member

    Jack is a resident of Saltcoats Saskatchewan since 1976.  He has been married to M. Jeanette Dawes (a now-retired high school teacher) for 52 years and has three adult children and three grandchildren.
    Jack’s work and professional experience includes:

    • Early teaching background in Manitoba.

    • Media –television, newspaper, radio  (agriculture specialist) and related.

    • Administrative, property management, sales  and  public affairs experience (.including Executive Director with the Prairie Oat Growers Association and related oat commissions in three Prairie Provinces.)

    • Sales experience in media as well ,

    In addition to involvement with our children’s’ school, sports and cultural activities Jack and his family have been involved in local fund raising and volunteering for our community hall, museum and cenotaph.

    Jack is currently working on a history project involving the Canadian Railway Troops of World War I and its connection to local Saltcoats history. Have a strong interest in the history of, and potential future, of the Port of Churchill and its connecting railways from Saskatchewan.

    He remain a part-time musician with community band and other small-group players,( president of Yorkton Community bands).
