Kristine FlynnVolunteer and Programs Administration
Kristine’s museum career started at the Morse Museum and Cultural Centre and she has been hooked on museums ever since. She joined the WDM in 2008.
From the WDM Corporate Office, Kristine supports and collaborates with programming staff to create and deliver creative education programs that build historical awareness, unveil crucial context behind contemporary issues, and develop participants’ critical thinking skills. She also manages and supports the work of the volunteers who generously give their time at the Corporate Office.
In 2020, Kristine was awarded the Young Professional Award by the Museums Association of Saskatchewan (MAS). She has worked with MAS on curriculum updates for their Museums and Education (2016) and Volunteer Management (2020) courses and on the creation of an Education and Interpretation Self-Assessment Workbook (2019).
Kristine serves on the Board of Directors for the Council for Certification in Volunteer Administration and leads the Board of the Administrators of Volunteer Resources – Saskatchewan as their President. In 2022, she was recognized for her years of volunteering with the Dakota Dunes CDC Literacy Volunteer Award from Foundations Learning & Skills Saskatchewan.
Kristine holds a BA (Hons.) in History and Political Studies from the University of Saskatchewan, certificates in public programming, and is a Certified Volunteer Administrator. She is also proud to be a 2019 Leadership Saskatoon and 2016 Betty-Anne Heggie Womentorship Program alumna.
