75th Anniversary Accession Numbers Seek & Find

Moose Jaw

February 1, 2025 - February 28, 2025
9:00 am - 5:00 pm

The Western Development Museum Act was passed on April 2nd, 1949, and the WDM organization is turning 75 this year. The WDM has been collecting artifacts for years and each artifact is given an accession number. An accession number helps the Museum keep a record of all the items in its Collection.

For example, WDM-1993-S-81. “WDM” stands for the organization, Western Development Museum. “1993” is the year the artifact was accessioned. “S” is an abbreviation for the first letter of the WDM location where the artifact was collected from (Saskatoon, North Battleford, Yorkton or Moose Jaw). “81” means it’s the eight-first artifact accessioned that year.

Find the artifacts pictured on your activity sheet and write down their accession number. Many of the accession numbers are included on the artifact’s interpretation signs or on labels on display cases.

After you’re done, put it the seek and find box on the table to be entered to win a prize.
