Moose Jaw
Gophers grow to 1 foot tall and weigh between one half to one pound. Gophers like to eat nuts, seeds, grain, grasses and insects. They will sometimes eat farmers’ crops which doesn’t make the farmers happy. Like other burrowing animals, they will hibernate, or go to sleep in their burrow for the winter.
When they come out, gophers are one of the biggest signs that spring has come to Saskatchewan!
Mischievous gophers are loose in the Museum, and we need your help to find them all.
Pick up a seek and find activity sheet on the table just before the glass doors. Explore the Museum Galleries to look for 10 gopher pictures and write down where you found them After you’re done, put it in the seek and find box on the table to be entered to win a prize.
