Pride Flag Seek and Find

The rainbow flag symbolizes pride and diversity of the 2SLGBTQ+ community. 2SLGBTQ+ stands for two spirited, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer or questioning and others.

Pride month is often celebrated in June because of the anniversary of the Stonewall Riots in June of 1969. Starting in 1970 activists in New York marched through the streets of Manhattan, which in time became known as the first Gay Pride Parade.

The flag was designed in 1978 by San Francisco, California artist Gilbert Baker. The first flag was hand-dyed and stitched together by the artist and volunteers. The rainbow flag is now used all over the world by the 2SLGBTQ+ community and allies to show identity, support, and equality. In that same year, more than 100 people marched in Moose Jaw for a gay rights protest.

We have hidden 12 rainbow flags in the Museum, and we need your help to find them all.

Pick up a seek and find activity sheet on the table just before the glass doors. Explore the Museum Galleries write down each place in the Galleries that you find a flag. After you’re done, put it in the seek and find box on the table to be entered to win a prize.
