Spark Your Pride

June 18, 2019 - June 18, 2019, 12:00 pm - 9:30 pm | Saskatoon

The WDM Saskatoon and the Saskatoon PRIDE Festival have partnered on a brand-new, trailblazing initiative – Spark Your Pride: Sharing Our Stories, Celebrating Our Lives.

LGBTQ+ and two-spirit people in Saskatchewan lead extraordinary lives. Their stories of success and struggle while faced with discrimination, and their march toward equality, need to be shared and preserved. Spark Your Pride focuses on ways storytelling, art, music, dance, film, and more can express personal history and create Pride in all of us. An eclectic variety of ceremony, discussions, workshops, readings, screenings, even line dancing, happening throughout the museum will immerse LGBTQ+ and two-spirit people—and interested allies—in an inspiring experience honouring Indigenous traditions, exploring healing through storytelling, and discovering strategies to revisit and recount past trauma.
