Memory Mondays – Water-based Activities

This month’s #MemoryMondays post is featuring photos of water-based activities! These photos all come from the WDM’s Barton Collection of photos, which follows multiple generations of one family from a farm near Floral, just outside of Saskatoon.
It seems that the Barton family frequently visited Beaver Creek in the summer to swim, picnic, fish, and have fun. All five of this month’s photos were taken at or near Beaver Creek between 1921 and 1956.

I knew Lance Barton, and know Dennis Barton. They were great folks, and I could be wrong, but I thought that I had been told that the wonderful pictorial treasure trove. of the Barton’s farm family life was collected by Lance’s mother. Thank goodness for her interest in photography to record such a record of everyday life so long ago. Salt of the earth people.
