Classes that arrive without having pre-booked their visit will be charged general admission.
See our full Education Booking & Cancellation Policy.
Yes, some programs can accommodate two classes at a time. Please visit the booking page for the program you wish to attend for more information on joint booking availability and arrangements.
Please contact the WDM location if you have any questions about joint bookings.
This means that this date isn’t available for booking or you selected a date past the advance booking window.
To book online you must book at least one week or two weeks in advance, depending on the program. This allows Museum staff enough time to prepare for your visit.
To book a visit less than one week or two weeks in advance you must contact the WDM location for availability.
The number of students able to attend varies by program. Most programing requires a minimum number of students. If you are unable to book online because you do not meet the minimum number of students required, please contact the WDM location. We may be able to accommodate you.
You must pay with a credit card online at the time of booking. After booking you will receive a confirmation email with your invoice.
Payment requests in other formats (i.e. cash or cheque at time of arrival) will only be accepted in approved situations at the discretion of Museum management. Please contact the WDM location if it is not possible for you to make a credit card payment online at the time of booking.
If five or more students are in attendance than previously booked, the school admission rate per student will be applied to the booking credit card at time of arrival. If four or less additional students are in attendance, you will not be charged additional admission.
Refunds are not issued if fewer students are in attendance than the number of students booked online.
See our full Education Booking & Cancellation Policy.
Groups are expected to provide chaperones (including teachers) at a ratio of 1 adult per 5 students. Chaperones in this ratio are admitted free of charge.
See our full Chaperone Policy.
School groups will never be denied access to the Museum due to fewer chaperones. However, students must be adequately supervised while visiting. The number of chaperones available to a group will affect how the group participates in education programming and Museum tours. For example, if only the classroom teacher is available to supervise, the class will need to move through the Museum as one group.
You are welcome to bring more chaperones than our 1:5 chaperone ratio. Additional chaperones will be charged the chaperone admission rate.
You must contact the WDM Location for a staff member to change the date/time of your booking.
Cancellations of in-person programming made more than three business days in advance will receive a full refund, less a $10 administrative fee.
Cancellations made less than three business days in advance are ineligible for a refund.
Note: Exceptions will only be allowed in approved situations at the discretion of Museum management (ex; bus cancellation due to extreme weather, educator job action).

To qualify for the PST-exempt school rate, the homeschool, pre-school or daycare must pre-book a curriculum connected education program online, and attend on a weekday between September 1 and June 30. The PST-exempt school rate applies to children age two and older. Children under the age of two are free.
When Pre-booking an educational program, groups are required to follow the 1:5 chaperone ratio outlined above.
If the visit is not pre-booked, each group will be charged General Admission, the Museum Family admission rate or the Museum group admission rate, whichever best suits the members of the group. Note: these admission rates are not PST-exempt, and no educational materials or program will be provided. However, groups are welcome to take part in any public activities such as in-gallery seek and finds.
See our full Education Booking & Cancellation Policy for additional information on Homeschool, Pre-school and Daycare groups.
Please review our Museum Manners & Code of Conduct before your visit.
