Camps For Children

Drop in at the WDM to explore history through hands-on crafts and activities! Recommended for children ages 7 – 12, $10/child each day.

August 11: Leather Bracelet

Join us for an afternoon of leathercraft and create your own leather bracelet using traditional tools and techniques. Learn the basics of working with leather while exploring a unique heritage skill. Participants will design, decorate, and take home their finished bracelet.

August 12: Nature Walk and Ink Making

Join us for a nature walk around J.C. Beach, weather permitting, and discover some of Saskatchewan’s native plants. Along the way, we’ll gather berries and learn how people have used natural materials to make simple ink and pigments. Participants will have the opportunity to create their own berry ink while exploring the natural world around them.

August 13: Stitch a Bear

Join us for a crafter-noon of learning the basics of hand sewing. Participants will design, stitch, and stuff their own ugly bear using felt and yarn. No sewing experience is needed. Each participant will take home a one-of-a-kind creation.
