How did people move across Saskatchewan before highways stretched from town to town? How did communities stay connected across vast distances, changing seasons and growing industries?
Join us for an evening of stories, exploration, and discovery as we trace the evolution of mass transportation on the prairies. From the power of early steam locomotives to the promise of electric rail, from the familiar routes of the Saskatchewan Transportation Company to the rise of car culture, this program brings together the vehicles, innovations, and experiences that shaped how we travel.
This special program highlights both the big-picture changes and the everyday moments of transportation in Saskatchewan – how people got to work, visited family and experienced the province in motion.
Guests will have the unique opportunity to step aboard the historic STC bus in our collection and experience a piece of this story firsthand. Before and after the presentation, you’ll also be invited to explore the Museum galleries at your own pace, making connections between the stories shared and the artifacts on display.
Doors open at 6:30 pm. Your ticket includes admission to the galleries as well as desserts and refreshments provided by High Regard Catering.
A door prize will be drawn during the evening.
