WDM Moose Jaw – 306-693-5989
The K+S Potash Canada Short Line 101 is the only place in Saskatchewan where you can experience the sounds, the smells and the feeling of a steam train. The little train, as the Vulcan locomotive is affectionately known, started chugging along our tracks in 1978, providing a unique experience here at the WDM Moose Jaw.
Train rides typically last between 10 – 15 minutes, with two laps around the quarter mile track.
The Locomotive’s opening day is May 16, with rides planned for May 17 (and potentially May 18).
Seating is limited. Train runs depend on weather, volunteer availability, and mechanical conditions. Call 306-693-5989 before your visit to confirm the train is running.
Rides begin at 11:00 am and run through 3:30 pm. We look forward to seeing you again this season!
In warmer weather, the Vulcan Locomotive operates on select dates that are posted here. Train rides are weather, mechanically and volunteer dependent. We need a minimum of four volunteers to run the train; two conductors and two engineers who must be licensed by TSASK.
