Museum Days

Group of young students walks down the street in WDM North Battleford's Heritage Village. The Museum building is in the background. Driving beside them is a vintage firetruck.

Students learn by doing as they try their hand at old-fashioned skills, make crafts and meet Museum volunteers who show them their special skills.

Description

Get hands-on with Saskatchewan history and Museum artifacts. Hop aboard your favorite vintage vehicle for a ride through time! Make (and taste!) butter and ice cream, twist twine into rope,  listen to stories, explore our 1920s Heritage Farm and Village, watch farming demonstrations, sit in real 1920s school desks, learn about gardening, and more.

Other Museum Days activities include:

  • Horse-drawn wagon rides
  • 1920s fire truck rides
  • Visit the seed exploration station

There’s lots of room to roam and buildings to explore. Skilled volunteers bring many of the buildings to life, including the schoolhouse. Don’t miss the sights and smells of the farmhouse kitchen where we’re cooking up tasty treats in a wood-fired oven.
