Pop in and Play with the WDM

Have your child connect with the WDM and our hands-on artifacts in a fun and interactive way. Activities are designed for ages 3 – 6. Pop into the Education room to enjoy the play kitchen, school desks and slate boards,  and a different activity every month.

  • March 19 – Roll up your sleeves and start scrubbing. Wash clothes using a washboard and wringer.
  • April 16 –  Try out our wheat dig and find all of the farm animals that are hiding in our drum of wheat.
  • May 20 – Come play with marbles! We will learn how to make a marble run and how to play the game of marbles.
  • June 11 – Learn about sand and Saskatchewan’s geography as you get hands-on with kinetic sand.
  • July 16 – It’s story time, but with pictures! We will use a felt board to tell stories with images.
  • August 20 – Learn to stitch with sewing cards. This hands-on activity is a great introduction to such an important heritage skill.
  • September 17 – It’s button making day! Come get creative and design a paper circle that we will then turn into a button you can wear and take home.
