Agriculture has deep roots in Saskatchewan. It was the driving force behind settlement and immigration to the area that would become Saskatchewan. Agriculture continues to be important to our province. Not only do Saskatchewan people produce food for the world, they lead innovation into better crops and agricultural tools.
Through video and activities, students learn about soil preparation, seeding crops and harvesting them, and about how grains become the food we eat. Besides grain production, the program also includes resources on gardening and farm animals.
Program materials include a 30 minute Harvest in Saskatchewan video (with vocabulary list and student comprehension questions) plus seven kits of pre and post video activities. All content will be provided for teachers through a password protected website link to work through at their own classroom's pace. Materials will be available to educators through June 26, 2026 after booking.

This program covers a wide range of Grade 3/4 Science and Social Studies outcomes. I would have been able to make better use of all of the materials that are included in the program if I had signed up earlier in the year. I will know this for next time! – Teacher, 2021
