Description

Museum Day will bring the Museum alive with demonstrations, interpretations, displays and activities. In groups led by their teacher or a chaperone, students learn by doing as they try their hand at heritage skills under the direction of WDM staff and volunteers. Students can try butter churning, making old
fashioned ice cream, learn how to use typewriters and more. They will meet Museum volunteers who will demonstrate their knowledge and skills of Saskatchewan's past.

Plus, explore the Museum galleries which feature planes, trains, automobiles and more. Climb aboard a locomotive train engine and sit in a Snowbirds jet. Learn about Saskatchewan innovations such as Medicare, air ambulances and the automated teller machine (ATM).

Program Type

Museum-Led

WDM staff or volunteers will lead you and your students through set programming. Museum staff or volunteers will:
  • Greet your group when you arrive to introduce the program and review the Museum rules.
  • Ensure that all required materials are ready.
  • Lead and facilitate program activities.
Note: Chaperones are still required and will be asked to help students with some activities. Your students may not have a chance to explore the whole Museum as part of any one program.
