The Wheels and Runners program offers students an educational and engaging way to learn about the influence of the natural environment on Saskatchewan's communities and their methods of transportation.
This is a Museum-led, in-Museum program supported by chaperones. The program takes two hours to complete and has four components.
The first component is a Travel in Saskatchewan discussion that the whole class participates in together. A script with accompanying images and hands-on artifacts enables Museum staff to introduce three environments in Saskatchewan and how they influence modes of transportation.
The class is then divided into three groups with each taking a turn participating in the next three components of the program:

Chaperone Ratios: Groups are expected to provide chaperones (including teachers) at a ratio of 1 adult per 5 students. These chaperones are admitted free of charge. Support staff and chaperones for students with significant needs are allowed at a 1:1 ratio at no charge.
Admission for additional adults beyond the required number is $12 each.
Visiting with multiple classes: It is NOT possible for two classes from the same school to participate in this program concurrently. Teachers may consider planning a visit at the same time as another class participating in a self-guided visit.
