Bringing Saskatchewan history to life

A treasure of Saskatchewan history awaits the over 20,000 students who visit a WDM annually as part of a school field trip. There’s no better way to teach Saskatchewan students than to use programs and resources with Saskatchewan inspired connections, links and examples.

To check availability for our current programs, visit our booking page or browse all of our programs below.

Program Types

The WDM offers a mix of program options. Learn more about each type:

Self-Guided Visits

Explore the Museum with your students, using the provided Museum Quests to investigate your choice of exhibits and artifacts.

Museum-Led Programs

WDM staff or volunteers will lead you and your students through set programming.

Museum staff or volunteers will:

  • Greet your group when you arrive to introduce the program and review the Museum rules.
  • Ensure that all required materials are ready.
  • Lead and facilitate program activities.
  • Leave time for independent exploration of the Museum galleries

Note: Chaperones are still required and will be asked to help students with some activities. Your students may not have a chance explore the whole Museum as part of any one program.

Virtual Programs

A safe opportunity for students to learn from their own classrooms or homes. Virtual programs feature digital content like videos and printable activities like worksheets, crafts, and colouring pages. Some virtual programs may include a live component, such as a Q & A session with WDM Education Staff. Check each program listing carefully for details about what is included.
