Description

Have you heard the expression “there’s always two sides to every story?” That is one of the ideas at the heart of the Wapaha Sk̄a Oyate: Living Our Culture, Sharing Our Community at Pion-Era, 1955 – 69 exhibit. This reflection resource will help students share and reflect on different perspectives, including what Reconciliation means to them.

Program Type

Teacher-Led

Teachers will lead the program using scripts or other information provided by the Museum.  Museum staff will not guide you and your students. Museum staff or volunteers will:
  • Greet your group when you arrive to introduce the program and review the Museum rules.
  • Ensure that all required materials are ready.
  • Will review the program with teachers before the start so that teachers are comfortable delivering the program.
Scripts will help guide you and your students in exploring and learning from the artifacts, replicas and photos used in these programs. Teachers may request the program script to review before their visit. Staff will check in with teachers during the program to answer questions or, if needed, to help direct students to their next activity.
